What happened:

The party heads up the south east tower to the third level. Here they find a aviary and another set of stairs heading up. The party follows the stairs up. They appear at the top of the Three Moon Vault. There are three towers bathed in different colors of moonlight. The tower the party arrives in filled with a black light. There is a dais in the center with a lunar crystal. The whole dais is protected by a solid barriers moonlight. Above the lunar crystal there are 6 mirrors that are reflecting the black light onto the crystal.

There are two black rose bearers on guard in this tower. The party attacks the rose bearers. The roses bears then go into a frenzy. The party is able to quickly defeat the rose bearers. They then notice that Termini is standing in the center of a moondisk in the center of the three towers made of solid moonlight that shimmers like opalescent glass. She is casting a ritual with the fifth rod piece.

Zel shoots an arrow up at the mirror and cracks it. Termini shouts, “Death to all who oppose Lord Soth! And death to those pitiful wardens! You’ll never stop me!” She then summons a deathwolf to attack the party.

Grombo stays back to protect Zel as she continues to destroy the mirrors with her arrows. Tink, Burton, and Nyx begin to fight the deathwolf. Termini shouts out for more guards. Tink attacks Termini while Burton and Nyx continue fighting the deathwolf. Zel continues to destroy the mirrors. Termini then uses Banishment on Tink and he is teleported to another plane of existence. Grombo runs into the fight with the deathwolf and rages.

The guards arrive and Termini casts Time Stop and everyone is frozen in time for half a minute. Termini casts lightning bolts twice and shocking grasp. When time is unfrozen, Nyx is down and Burton is close to death. When Nyx goes down, her Stormglass Heart shatters. She is revived, but damages Burton and Grombo. Burton is barely standing (2 hit points).

The guards begin shooting heavy crossbolts at the party. Zel takes out more mirror panels. Burton heals the party. Grombo takes out the deathwolf. Burton and Nyx take healing potions. Zel destroys another mirror panel. Grombo is pissed and goes into a Frenzy. He attacks Termini and disrupts her concentration. Tink is returned to their current plane of existence. Termini teleports to the other side of the moondisk.

The guards continue shooting the party. Burton attacks the guards. Nyx uses the 3rd piece of the Rod to cast Reverse Gravity on Termini and the guards. Zel crits on the last mirror piece and it shatters. The curtain of crimson moonlight surrounding the Three Moons Vault disappears. Areas of solid moonlight—including the moondisk, moonbridges, and barriers around the lunarium daises—instantly dissolve.

A portal opens where the moondisk once hovered. An adult lunar dragon flies from this portal and looms over the courtyard. Displeased at Teremini’s failure, the dragon attacks everyone in sight.

Tink casts Feather Fall on the party as they begin to fall. Nyx releases her Reverse Gravity spell. The dragon attempts to attack Tink, but misses. The party lands safely on the ground. Termini and the guards land with a loud splat and are instantly dead. The rod piece rolls out on to the ground unharmed.

Burton runs to grab the rod piece. The dragon casts Cold Breath at Tink. Tink then casts Banishment on the dragon and it disappears. The party quickly retreats back into the dungeon beneath the vault. They barricade themselves in Valendar's old cell. When the dragon reappears he searches for the party, but can not find them. The party takes a long rest before heading out and finding the portal to take them back to Sigil.
