What happened:

The party awakes refreshed and ready to head to the Astral Sea. They run into Malania and she bring them breakfast. She also mentions that Alustriel is in her study if they want to talk to her.

After breakfast the party goes to talk to Alustriel. She gives them information about the Astral Sea and where the rod is telling the group to go. The party then heads to the portal and is teleported to the Astral Sea near the body of a dead god, Havock. As the party descends toward the misshapen mass they are attacked by two star anglers. The party is able to quickly defeat the star anglers and continue on their journey to find the second piece of the rod.

The group sees a shipwreck embedded into the body of Havock and they decent towards the stern segment wreck of the ship.

Once the party lands they are greeted by two githyankis, Lysan and Zastra, patrolling the deck. They are cautious, but friendly with the party. They inform the party that they have been stranded here for a few months and they have lost party members who went out to explore away from the ship. Lysan takes the party down to meet the camp’s interim leader, Ilren.

Ilren is boisterous and jolly. He is playing cards with a elf named Daveras. Ilren says he became leader when the first mate, Figaro, went made and locked himself up in the stateroom. The party asks if they can talk with Figaro and Ilren wishes them luck, but says they probably won't get much out of him.

The party heads down further into the ship and Nyx discovers a hidden door in the floor of a storage room that leads down to the barracks. Here the groups finds Cirit. She claims that Ilren is a not who he claims to be. That he is actually a death slaad and is feeding off the minds of the crew. She also says that Ilren is the reason that Figaro has gone mad. Cirit tried to confront Ilren, but he over powered her and locked her in the brig. She offers to help the party defeat Ilren in exchange for her freedom. She also offers to help heal Figaro of his madness.
