What happened:

Party sends Maaltok, the charmed prison guard, and Sril, the charmed grimlock,in to talk to the yellow demon. The demon is able to detect thoughts and realizes that they are charmed and the battle begins. Maaltok, Sril, Tink, and Burton move in to distract the spider dragon and demon. Nyx and Gertrude wait back in the hallway till they are needed. Burton is blind in the dark as the party did not want to use any light.

The dragon uses it's spiderling breath at the party. It kills Sril instantly. Burton trips over the body of Sril.

Zel casts invisibility and sneaks around the battle with the dragon. She uses mage hands to grab the the web satchel containing the 1st piece of the rod. Zel starts to run once she has the web satchel. Nyx jumps in to help protect Zel from the dragon. Gertrude stays back to cover their retreat. Tink casts light on Burton's armor and tells Burton we need to run.

The dragon takes off after the web satchel, even though it can not see Zel. The yellow demon summons another demon to try to block the party's path. Zel gives the web satchel to Nyx. Maaltok continues to fight the yellow demon to protect the party's escape.

Zel, Nyx, and Burton leave the dragon cave to discover the path is blocked by Giant Lizards. Gertrude takes out the first lizard.

Before Tink is able to leave the cave, the dragon blocks the path. Tink moves under the dragon and misses the attacks of opportunity. In the mean time, the party is able to quickly kill the rest of the Giant Lizards.

Maaltok kills the yellow demon and starts attacking the spider dragon. Still being charmed he tells the party to run. Tink pushes the dragon back and tells Maaltok to follow them. The party continues to run and is able to escape Web's Edge with the piece of the rod. They say a heartfelt goodbye to Gertrude before jumping in the portal.

The party arrives back at Sigil where they meet Malania van Talstiv (Alustriel's wife). She offers the party any help or supplies that they may need. At first everyone is suspicious as Malania explains the Wizard's Three are resting. Nyx is insightful and knows that the party can trust Malania and everything she has said.

The party takes a long rest, before investigation the first piece of the rod.
