What happened:

Party finds the ritual where Eldon Keyward is about to be sacrificed. The party fights some nothics and eventually kill the mage performing the ritual. Energy from the interrupted ritual opens a latent planar rift and the party has a vision as they are transported to another plane.

"Around the world and across the planes, you perceive innumerable cults of Vecna. They snatch away people and strip their secrets in rituals like the one you stopped. Behind them, the withered form of Vecna gathers the secrets like threads, adding them to a glowing sphere of hidden knowledge in some impossibly distant place. The vision fades into darkness, leaving only Vecna’s glaring left eye."

The rift between planes closes and the party awakens to find themselves in open coffins inside a mass grave pit. They find Eldon has been transported with them. Eldon explains that they are in Evernight and says they need to find a Crevice of Dusk to help take them back to Neverwinter/their own plane.

There are ghouls around the mass grave pit, they party distracts the ghouls and head towards the marketplace that Eldon suggests. Zelanis casts disguise self to look like the undead and steals some clothing from a local inn to help disguise the rest of the party.

They then head to the Whithered Vain and meet Sangora (a vampire barkeep). Although the party doesn't trust her, she sells them information on where to find a Crevice of Dusk. She gives them a map to the Dolindar Tomb in the Evernight graveyard. They party finds an abandoned house and takes a long rest before heading to the Dolindar Tomb.
