Backstory

Long before the founding of W.O.R.M., Lirien Voss and Altharion Veylen fought side by side as members of the same adventuring party. Their group was renowned for delving into lost ruins, unearthing forgotten magics, and battling forces that sought to twist the fabric of reality. While Altharion focused on divination and unraveling grand cosmic secrets, Lirien was the party’s anchor—their shield against curses, extraplanar threats, and forbidden magics.

Lirien's expertise in rune magic and protective wards saved the party more times than she can count. It was she who devised the warding glyphs that contained a fragment of Vecna’s knowledge after one particularly dangerous expedition. That memory haunts her still—Altharion was always too curious about the implications of what they found.

When Altharion founded W.O.R.M., he convinced Lirien to join, not as a favor, but because he knew she was one of the few mages he could trust to teach young adventurers how to survive. She accepted, but was unsure she would stay longterm. Over time, she grew attached to the academy, taking on the role of Professor of Protective Magics and ensuring that no student would meet a tragic fate due to arrogance or ignorance.
